ALICIA KEYS: Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart +
Empire State Of Mind (With Jay Z) (Live at American Music Awards 2009)

One of my favorite songs from this year is TRY SLEEPING WITH A BROKEN HEART by ALICIA KEYS. I was kinda disappointed with the official video - a version of this live performance would have been better! Alicia always hits the mark with her live performances, and tonight was no exception! She looked beautiful and as always this song sounded great live and loved the 'wall dancing' and the spinning piano at the end! So excited for THE ELEMENT OF FREEDOM to drop mid December!

Alicia also performed with JAY -Z tonight on EMPIRE STATE OF MIND (Song of the year right there!)which as always goes down a treat! I loved her FRANK SINATRA opening to the song this time with NEW YORK, NEW YORK - Camille

JENNIFER LOPEZ: Louboutins (Live at American
Music Awards 2009)

Hot damn JENNIFER LOPEZ has landed again...or was that a fall?! This years performance American Music Awards featured a LOUBOUTINS-less Lola killin' it in a sexy boxing outfit.  The track itself isn't half bad, first time I listened to it I wasn't impressed. Jenny is back on the block! Check out Amazon to brush up on your Lola! - Matt

ADAM LAMBERT: For Your Entertainment (Live at
American Music Awards 2009)

First off I think ADAM LAMBERT lost weight!, second off can I say those horse-people are Confessions Tour rip offs? He reminded me of Journey soundwise, i must say i can't be hatin' too much. The performance was rad, the moves slick. I especialy loved the ample body dragging and did he just make out with a boy? Oy vey! The ending note was off the hook!

Adam has always been a oddity ever since his arrival in the pop music scene, shocking teens than winning admiration of artists and finally begrudgingly finding places in Americas hearts. I hope this is a beginning of a new era in pop music, one where male can actually bring true rocking quality to their music. Check out his debut - For Your Entertainment. - JAKE

WHITNEY HOUSTON: I Didn't Know My Own Strength
(Live at American Music Awards 2009)

I had my fingers crossed so hard for WHITNEY HOUSTON's return to the American stage. Yes she did Good Morning America, but this was a major award show and she was facing her peers again for the first time since her comeback. She sang I DIDN'T KNOW MY OWN STRENGTH which is one of my favorite cuts from I LOOK TO YOU, and the one that really defines her journey back to wellness and the top of the charts.

Everything went fabulously - she looked beautiful, sang brilliantly (best I've seen recently I think) and HIT that note at the end out of the ball park! I loved her trademark pause at the end where she soaked up the atmosphere and applause before ending 'I DIDN'T KNOW MY OWN STRENGTH' which had the audience cheering and clapping and REBA in tears (lol)

Her speech was also marvelous she said everything she needed to without any awkward 'WTF' moments like there have been when she's spoked after a few of her performance overseas. Ms. Houston was honored with a musical achievement award - and she deserves it 100% - Camille

LADY GAGA: Bad Romance + Speechless (Live at
American Music Awards 2009)

At the beginning of LADY GAGA's performance at the American Music Awards it seemed that she was going for a boring exact copy of the dance-routine-in-the-video performance of smash hit BAD ROMANCE.  As my attention began to move elsewhere, she blasted out with those pipes - smashed some glass and toned down the evening with a burning piano rendition of Speechless, a track off the slickest pop album to be released all year, The Fame Monster.  I'm eagerly awaiting her next performance, and the tour. Smash that glass! - Matt

RIHANNA: Wait Your Turn + Hard (Live at American
Music Awards 2009)

RIHANNA's killer performances of Wait Your Turn + Hard tonight at the American Music Awards was a definite reminder of her undeniable talent and sex appeal as a performer. In a sexy as hell/slit up to hell dress, RiRi tore through the track (which includes a sample of Can You Feel It?), first introduced with Mad House off the dark and edgy Rated R all while giving us sass to last a lifetime - can I say I love the dominatrix X-wheel and the entire staging of t.v.'s. behind her. That Rihanna rain just wont let up! - Matt
