Add to myYahoo! What a great song "Million Dollar Bill" is! The best song written by Alicia Keys! Or is it Whitney Houston that makes the difference? She is still at number one, for the fourth week in a row! Love this video, and the great Freemasons mix! They really work well together:
video details and more
"Paparazzi", which is at number 3, is the first Lady GaGa song i really like! And...surprise..."Bad Romance" is the second! It happens that with the other Lady GaGa songs, i usually like them at first, but soon, they lost interest to me. I'm curious to know how i will react to these 2 songs in the near future. Meanwhile, "Bad Romance" is up, three places, to number 4:
video details and more
We learn to like Pink! We learn to love Pink! At first, she seems invisible, but, soon we see she is a great talent! The same usually happens to their songs. Discrete on the charts, at first. But they become great successes, little by little. "Please Don't Leave Me" was the first number 1 for the artist. And it rises to number 5 with 30 weeks! It's the older song on chart right now! And "Funhouse" peaks at number 6 , it's best position yet, with 19 weeks on chart!:
video details and more
Britney Spears went straight to number 1, in the USA, with "3", her new single. "Womanizer" was much better. The song rises from number 29 to number 16:
video details and more
At first i hated this song! Now, it's kinda different, and, i am liking it! Madonna's "Revolver" enters directly to number 18:

Add to myYahoo! In addition to including Final Fantasy's justifiably hyperbolic promotional blurb when first posting on the excellently kinetic synth-pop of "Which Song," we added this bit from Ben Jacobs aka Max Tundra himself on the process and equipment used to achieve his tones:
The main technology behind this and all of my albums has been the Commodore Amiga 500 - bestselling home computer at the time - running a $1 public domain software tracker program. The sounds don't emerge from the Amiga itself however; the machine is used to control various synths, samplers and the like. I look at colums of numbers all day on the screen of a black and white television; these digits relate to pitches, durations and tones. A lot of the noises on my record are real; the cello, bass guitar, drums, piano, trumpet and others are all rehearsed and played by me, but sometimes I will use realistic fake versions of these noises. Each song is recorded in a different way; drumkits are recorded on mono cassette recorders twice, then stuck together on the left and right of a mix; string arrangements are planned and then layered up; each note of an electric guitar is sampled so that it can be sequenced in ways too complicated for my fat fingers to play at full speed. And then I have a cup of tea and sing my heart out.
It's worth mentioning this because a remix of a Max Tundra song is, by definition, a shattering of the laborious process that yielded a truly great track. That seems sad somehow! Luckily this remix is in good hands with Passion Pit, who know from putting synths to uplifting ends. The Boston boys wrap "Which Song" in syncopation and patches dialed to their "Little Secrets" presets, pitch-shifting their synths like elastic bands, ending with some cowbells and a glimmering fade out. It sounds like it could be a Manners track with less helium vocals and more of Max Tundra's, so -- for fans of Passion Pit and Max Tundra.

After only hearing two tracks from CASXIO which I instantly loved (SEVENTEEN and BOILING POINT as featured on the Seventeen EP) I was eager to hear more from them at the High Rise PR CMJ showcase.
Casxio frontman Lucas Guerin had spoken to us earlier in the day about the material that would be on their first full length release, he was looking forward to seeing the reaction to it, and lets just say I think he'd have been pretty pleased... the crowd was so into it!
The bands live performance is just amazing, really high energy! The sound has been compared to Prince and I think its a justified comparison as Lucas hit some notes there that would totally give him a run for his money!
Look for our interview this Lucas coming to Hard Candy this week... It's a good one!
